Kim Kardashian has reportedly visited the Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik, who are currently serving life sentences for the 1989 murders of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez. The infamous crime, which took place in their Beverly Hills mansion, saw the brothers, aged 21 and 18 at the time, shoot their parents at close range.
The visit took place at San Diego County’s Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, where Kardashian spoke about prison reform. The brothers are involved in a rehabilitation initiative called Greenspace, which encourages inmates to improve prison yards. Kardashian was accompanied by her sister Khloé, their mother Kris Jenner, and Cooper Koch, the actor who portrays Erik Menendez in a current Netflix series based on the case.
The Netflix show, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, is trending at the top of the platform’s viewing charts. However, Erik Menendez has criticized the show for what he claims are “blatant lies” about his brother Lyle’s character. In a statement shared by his wife, Erik expressed disappointment over the depiction of their lives, accusing the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, of misrepresenting the facts and harming the awareness of male sexual assault victims.

Murphy, known for his work on Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, defended the series, stating that both sides of the story had been researched and presented, including the perspectives of the parents. He acknowledged the difficulty for those whose lives are depicted on screen but emphasized the responsibility to provide a balanced narrative.
The Menendez brothers, who have maintained that they killed their parents in self-defense after years of alleged abuse, were ultimately convicted on charges that suggested the motive was to inherit their family’s fortune.
The Netflix drama, which stars Javier Bardem, Chloë Sevigny, Cooper Koch, and Nicholas Alexander Chavez, continues to spark debate, with its portrayal of the high-profile case under scrutiny by both audiences and those directly involved.
